Denver, Colorado

We arrived in Denver about lunchtime today (Monday), after a couple more hundred miles of Kansas!  Found a Best Buy and bought a Toshiba Netbook, which I'm now using.  It's only money!

As we travelled across the plains this morning we suddenly saw the snowcapped Rockies.  It made one aware of what it must have been like to have travelled hundreds of miles across the prairies in a covered wagon, and then to be confronted with this massive barrier.

Denver is an attractive looking city, helped by the backdrop of the Rockies.  We visited the centre of the town before we checked in to our hotel.  We've now got a night here, followed by 3 nights at Boulder, which is just up the road.  We might be able to get some clothes washed!

Hello holidaymakers, it does not seem like three weeks, since you started your adventure. I have just looked on the map how far you have gone. You hear of all these places and it must be fantastic to actually see them in the flesh, sorry to hear about your laptop, must be worn out with all the travelling. Keep on trekking.

Love Pam & Terry

Hi Folks,
Boulder was the scene for a celebrated murder immortalised in the book Perfect Town, Perfect Murder about Jon Benet Ramsey and who killed her. Cath has decided to watch the film again in homage to your visit!
P.S.
Keith, Did you really write "It made one aware of ..."?
One must sign orf,
Pete

I remember the case, Pete. Various developments have occurred and been reported by TV on previous occasions when we've been in the States. There was a guy who confessed to the murder and was then ruled out. I think the mother died a few years ago. However, I hadn't connected it with Boulder. It takes a specialist like Cath to do that!
