Left Indiana and entered Misssouri this morning. Drove through Saint Louis (pronounced Saint Louis, with the stress on the s) and saw the Gateway Arch, which symbolises Saint Louis as the gateway to the west. We drove to west Saint Louis to the Missouri Botanical Gardens (is there a theme developing here?). Spent a couple of hours there and then drove about another 50 miles to a little place called Foristell. I've just been for a swim in the pool - it's about 100F out there - and am now relaxing with a cold Sam Adams. It's a hard life!
We've decided that driving through Kansas on the I70 will be a bit boring, so after Kansas City (which is in Missouri, by the way) we've decided to take a detour a little further south to Wichita. It has a ring to it!
